HCD Ltd were awarded the contract to clear the 15 acre – Metal Box factory in Worcester for a national house builder to make way for 257 new houses.

Extensive consultation with Network Rail was necessary as the main Worcester to London rail line ran parallel with the site boundary.

The project included removal of a large quantity of cement Asbestos roofing sheets, steel structures which were between 8 & 16m high & a 5 storey office building.

Land Remediation involved the removal of Asbestos contaminated ground & foundations to a depth of 5m.

Throughout the project we processed & crushed 40K tonnes to 6F2 & 24K tonnes to Type 1 material which was stockpiled on site for use in new site roadways.

The 27 week project had a total value of £1.6M.
